Dine for Life Set to Bloom in the South West

Dine_for_lifeIt's almost time for a change of seasons and with the arrival of spring a day away, the sun is set to shine on the 2011 Dine for Life dinner series. In a first of its kind, the Dine for Life Spring Dinner will blossom as a bi-regional simultaneous dining experience and will showcase WA food and wine at its finest. We welcome restaurants from the South West to join Perth in hosting this year's dinner to raise funds for local charity, People Who Care; a non-profit volunteer based agency whose aim is to look after WA's frail aged, younger people with disabilities, carers and other people in need.

The Spring Dinner will directly support their Power a Pensioner initiative, a program designed to help those relying solely on the pension not be forgotten or left behind in extreme poverty.

Venturing to the South West was a natural progression for Dine for Life founders Natasha Di Ciano and Andjelka Matic, who aim to grow Dine for Life into something bigger and better with each event.

"We are thrilled to finally announce our presence in the South West. We are so lucky to live in a state with such an abundance of talented chefs, beautiful food and wine, and stunning venues and we are so pleased that Dine for Life is able to offer a unique platform to showcase this," Ms Di Ciano said.

Dine for Life founder Andjelka Matic explains, "People Who Care work on an issue that we should really not be faced with in our rich and progressive community. By highlighting the cause and presenting it to a younger demographic we hope to raise both funds and awareness to help the elderly most in need and inspire others to do the same".

With Dine for Life's approach of dining with a conscience, guests will be able to dine at either of their food and wine havens. We once again unveil some of Perth's finest restaurants such as Jackson's Restaurant, Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth, Mosmans Restaurant, Restaurant Amusé, Lamont's Bishop's House, 1907 Restaurant, La Lola, Divido and Sentinel Bar & Grill.

For a change of scenery, people can indulge in a trip to the South West and attend our inaugural dinner at Other Side of the Moon Restaurant, Gnarabar, The Boho Bar, Cape Lodge and a selection of the region's most wonderful venues soon to be announced.

The Spring Dinner is truly a celebration of what WA has to offer, with local suppliers donating their produce to Dine for Life's participating restaurants who will feature them on their menu. Giving that home grown touch to every meal are local suppliers such as Eagle Vale Olives, Coolederra Oil, 34 Degrees Blue, Margaret River winery Windows Estate who will be supplying the wine on the evening and Faber Vineyard who will be serving the sparkling.

With two secret after parties in the works, all details remain on lockdown. However Perth guests have been teased with news of a dessert and cocktail pairing served at a pre-after party location by expert mixologists Cocktail Gastronomy (another WA born and bred creation). For those attending in the South West, an iconic venue is set to impress all party-goers. To be a part of this extraordinary event, tickets can be purchased from 1 September 2011 for a minimum donation of $150 (plus $4 booking fee) at www.dineforlife.com.
